As I read this book, it became clear to me why some of my goals that I deemed critical failed. I didn’t build proper foundation by differentiating between a goals and creative ideas and aligning them with my deep intended outcomes. I’ve learnt about the critical steps to take before that measurable target. These are errors one can avoid when setting goals.
The SPC approach of goal setting made me realize that goal achievement is not the end by itself but it generates much more long term measurable benefits.

If you desire a mind shift in goal setting in order to achieve them, this is the book to read. You will understand what to do with the many creative ideas that flow uninhibited in your mind. Paula Bressann has built up her writing in a incremental manner that is easy to understand.

While reading this book, my biggest insight was sharply distinguishing between creative ideas and goals, recognizing the danger of skipping steps. Rushing to set objectives without first laying the groundwork produces goals that are vague, misaligned with values, and hard to sustain. Adopting a phased progression—from Creative Idea to Preparing Fertile Soil, Seed Level, and Measurable Targets, followed by an action plan and review cycles—changed my mindset: before measuring, I need to nurture, clarify, and align. This shift pulled me out of the impulse to “just start doing” and placed me into a wiser, more consistent, and more fruitful process.

The SPC approach made me feel clarity, lightness, and direction. It confirmed the book’s central message: solid goals are born from a process. Beyond that, I aligned my whole life with intentionality, integrating self‑confrontation (motives, character, identity) with 1 Corinthians 10:31—I am a Christian, and it made complete sense to align the entire process with my desire to glorify God in everything. I began to treat each goal as practical worship: “do everything for the glory of God.” This gave me peace to advance step by step, excellence to execute, and humility to revise. Instead of yielding to the rush for immediate results, I chose to be faithful to the process, trusting that God is honored in every well‑taken step.

I believe this book benefits especially leaders and entrepreneurs who feel “always running but barely moving forward,” because it corrects unproductive haste and teaches you to nurture ideas before turning them into measurable targets with a plan and accountability. I also recommend it to people of faith who want to align goals with purpose and values, because the method fosters discernment, intentional review, and coherence between belief and action. Finally, for results‑oriented professionals (like me, with a D/I profile), it offers a practical path that blends focus, metrics, and reviews without killing creativity—keeping the heart in the right place by integrating self‑confrontation and excellence for the glory of God.

This book and the author’s unique approach helped me gain clarity on what are true goals and how to build a practical plan to achieve them faster. This process made a big impact on my life adjusting my focus and helping me to start take calculated steps towards my dreams.
it can be very beneficial for both Business and Personal goals!
