SPC FRAMEWORK · COMPLETE GUIDE

Most people do not need another goal-setting tip. They need a system that holds together when the week falls apart.

If you have tried to set goals and watched them dissolve by week four, the problem is almost never you. The problem is that you were handed a collection of motivational lines — dream big, be disciplined, visualize the outcome — instead of a system with parts that fit together.

A system has sequence. It has phases. It has a way to tell you which phase you are in and what belongs to that phase alone. Without that sequence, the work blurs into effort with no map — and effort without a map is exactly how smart, capable women end up exhausted and no closer to what they wanted.

The SPC Framework — Strategic Positioning and Clarity — exists because I lived that exhaustion and refused to call it discipline. What follows is the map. Not the entire journey, not every phase. The three foundational phases that determine whether your goal lives or dies in the first six weeks.

Why Most Goal-Setting Advice Misses

Three silent assumptions wreck most of the advice you have read:

That ambition is the engine. That ambition and goal quality are the same thing. And that once a goal is written down, the hard part is behind you. None of these are true. Ambition is the fuel, not the engine. Goal quality has to be examined before the goal is set. And writing a goal down is barely the start — it is the moment the system either begins protecting it or leaves it exposed.

A real goal-setting system has to answer three questions in order. Skip one and the rest collapse.

“A goal you cannot examine inside a system is not a plan. It is a wish with a deadline attached.”

The Three Foundational Phases

🥜 Phase 1 — Seed Level: Is this goal actually mine?

Every goal begins as a seed. The mistake almost everyone makes is skipping past the seed and running straight to the calendar. Before the calendar, you have to examine the seed itself. Where did it come from? Is it truly yours, or did you absorb it from a book, a post, a founder whose life looks nothing like yours?

Ask three questions out loud: Does this goal match the season of life I am actually in, or the season I wish I were in? Is it one goal, or three goals tangled together pretending to be one? Do I want this, or do I want what I believe this will give me?

A seed that survives those questions is a seed you can actually plant. A seed that does not survive them is a seed you stop watering, and that is already progress.

🚜 Phase 2 — Prepare Fertile Soil: Can my real life hold this goal?

Soil is not a metaphor for motivation. Soil is the honest inventory of what you have to work with this quarter: calendar, energy, relationships, money in the bank, caregiving load, emotional bandwidth. A goal planted in depleted soil does not fail loudly — it fails quietly, by never quite starting.

Preparing soil almost always means removing something before adding anything new. One recurring meeting released. One client boundary tightened. One commitment you inherited and never renegotiated. If you cannot name what is being removed, the new goal does not have space to take root.

🌱 Phase 3 — Measurable Targets: Can I see this goal on a Tuesday?

A goal you cannot measure is a mood. “Grow the business” is a mood. “Reach twelve consistent paying clients by the end of Q3 at an average of two hundred euros each” is a target. Specificity is not bureaucracy — it is what lets you know, on any given Tuesday afternoon, whether you moved this week or simply stayed busy.

Write the target where you will see it. Let it be uncomfortable. Do not soften it before the quarter starts — that is how goalposts move silently, which feels like humility but functions like self-erasure.

Why These Three Matter Most

The SPC Framework has more phases — phases on execution, review, and refinement. But these three — the seed, the soil, the target — are the foundation. Most goal failures happen here, in the first three weeks, often invisibly. The goal dies not because you failed to execute, but because you failed to examine.

When you have worked through these three phases with clarity, the rest of the system becomes lighter. You already know the seed. You already prepared the soil. You already wrote the target. The execution that follows is built on solid ground.

Where to Start Right Now

You do not need a retreat or a new planner. You need one honest afternoon with one goal that has been sitting on a list, and the willingness to ask it three questions in order: Is this seed mine? Can my real life hold this? Can I see this as a number with a date?

The fastest way to locate which phase you are actually in is the PB Evolution Free Assessment — a short, structured self-check that tells you which phase of the SPC cycle is currently blocking you. It is the same diagnostic I run in the first minutes of a paid session, made free so you can see the map before we ever speak.

For the complete system — all phases, the full execution rhythm, and how the pieces connect — the SPC System Obsidian Template ($87.99) holds every phase with the exact prompts I use with paid clients. And if you want the thinking behind each phase in long form first, the e-book Do You Really Know How to Set Goals? ($9.99) is the written companion.

Start here → A 3-minute diagnostic that tells you exactly which phase of the SPC cycle is blocking you this quarter. Free, honest, no upsell at the end — just the map.

TAKE THE FREE ASSESSMENT

Examine the seed. Prepare the soil. Write the target clearly. Then begin the work knowing your foundation is solid. The rest of the system will be there when you are ready for it.

Lucidity. Coherence. Commitment.

Want the framework done with you? The SPC Bundle packages the book, the Obsidian template, and a 1:1 strategy session in one place.
